This week I wanted to work on feeling words with my Kindergarten students. I read them the book Glad Monster, Sad Monster by Ed Emberley. This book is great because of the monster face cutouts that come with the book. Each monster is given a color, so the students were able to identify certain emotions with certain colors. I then showed them the Magic Coloring Book of Feelings trick, where the pages change depending on how to scan through the book. The kids had so much fun with this book, that they kept saying "again, again!". Each student then got a monster coloring book, with all of the monsters from our story. We will continue to talk about feelings and what to do when we have feelings we don't like.
